Chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov visits the Croatian Pavilion

Garry Kasparov, one of the greatest chess players of all time, paid a visit to the Croatian Pavilion at the World Exhibition Expo 2020 Dubai.

During his stay in the United Arab Emirates, the chess grandmaster decided to visit two pavilions. Next to the Pavilion of the United States of America, Mr. Kasparov’s great wish was to see how the Republic of Croatia presented itself in the World Exhibition. During the tour of the exhibition space of the Croatian Pavilion, Mr. Kasparov was introduced to the natural and cultural heritage of the Republic of Croatia, as well as its greatest achievements in science, art and sports.

In conversation with the staff of the pavilion, Mr. Kasparov emphasized his connection to the Republic of Croatia, where he gladly spends his time. In 2014, Mr. Kasparov was granted the citizenship of the Republic of Croatia due to the great moral support he provided to the country during the Homeland War.
