Look and feel of the Croatian pavillion at EXPO 2020

CROATIA – INSPIRING GREAT MINDS

The topic of EXPO 2020 is “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”; the Croatian Pavilion is located within the thematic park Mobility, while the Pavilion’s theme is “Croatia Inspiring Great Minds.” Through this theme, Croatia is presented as a country of innovative projects, ideas, inventions, and creative individuals who achieved global recognition because of their desire for challenge and openness to new ideas, sometimes with few resources.

Through production content in the experiential tunnel, brilliant minds such as Nikola Tesla, Ruđer Bošković and Slavoljub Penkala will be presented, who were never constrained by boundaries and who influence(d) the entire world with their grand ideas, even though they came from a relatively small country. As an exclusive exhibit in the Pavilion, the visitors will have the opportunity to meet the world’s fastest hypercar – the first prototype of the recently presented Rimac Nevera.

Alongside science and other areas in which it yielded success, Croatia is also especially known for its successes in sports, where it regularly wins the world’s greatest awards; therefore, the best of our athletes – Luka Modrić, Janica and Ivica Kostelić, and Dražen Petrović – will also be included.

The informative and cultural content about the Republic of Croatia will be disseminated through multimedia screenings. The exhibition section of the ground floor is conceived as a virtual experience that includes watching, listening, and travelling all around Croatia, presenting its natural beauty and specificities. This dynamic, stimulating experience, which leaves the visitors under the impression of an exciting journey, ends under an olive tree in the zone of relaxation.

The design and visual vocabulary of the exhibition space continues on the first floor, conceived as a business zone available to all Croatian entrepreneurs for the purpose of holding business meetings and accompanying activities, as well as for potential bilateral meetings at the highest level.
