Marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

On the occasion of marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25th, one of the video screens in the Croatian Pavilion was changed to the color orange, which is the symbol of this notable day. The color orange will be part of the Croatian Pavilion for the duration of the campaign under the name “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence”.

This way, the Croatian Pavilion decided to participate in raising awareness for the problem of violence against women, as well as point out the frequency of this kind of violence.
The main message that is being conveyed by marking this day is the importance of recognizing violence as unacceptable behavior that violates human rights and freedoms. Also, the goal of this campaign is to emphasize the importance of reporting every form of violent behavior.

“16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” is a global campaign that includes four important dates – the World AIDS day on December 1st, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3rd, the anniversary of the Montreal Massacre on December 6th and the International Day of Human Rights on December 10th, which also marks the end of the campaign.
