Meetings for initiation of academic cooperation held at the Croatian Pavilion

Thirty students from different countries, participants in the program „International Tourism & Hospitality Academy at Sea“ (ITHAS), led by Prof. Nevenka Čavlek, Ph. D., visited the Croatian Pavilion. ITHAS is an internationally recognized program that gives students the opportunity to attend lectures in a multicultural environment and learn about the sustainable development of tourism through practical examples during tours of different destinations. The six students from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb, led by Prof. Nevenka Čavlek, are taking part in the ITHAS program while sailing on the ship „Shabab Oman II“.

During his visit to the ship, the Director of the Croatian Pavilion, Mr. Jasmin Devlić discussed the possibility of the ship sailing to the Croatian coast within the ITHAS program.

The final meeting was held at the Croatian Pavilion with the professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb Prof. Nevenka Čavlek, the Head of Campus at SP Jain School of Global Management in Dubai Prof. Christopher Abraham, Ph.D., and representatives and professors from said Campus Mr. Mohamed Rahili and Mr. Marko Selaković. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss future cooperation, academic exchange, and opportunities for joint research.

The representatives from SP Jain School of Global Management in Dubai expressed the desire to establish a long-term, successful and fruitful cooperation with the Republic of Croatia and the University of Zagreb, especially when it comes to the development and implementation of vocational training programs for youth.
