The Croatian Pavilion hosted a specialized business workshop “Full of well-being” February 2, 2022 As part of the World Exhibition Expo 2020 Dubai, the Croatian Pavilion hosted a specialized business workshop “Full of well-being” on the topic of health tourism. The workshop was organized by the Croatian Tourist Board, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, and with the support of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of the Health & Wellness Week. The guests were greeted by the Director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports Tonči Glavina, and the President of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce Luka Burilović. “Health tourism is a product that has a strong resource base and rich tradition in Croatia, and this specialized business workshop was a unique opportunity to further strengthen the demand for health tourism services. Namely, Croatian business entities presented their offer of health tourism, exchanged experiences, and agreed on future cooperation with almost 50 partners from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Russia, and India. In addition to new business cooperation and projects, we expect that our country’s participation in the EXPO in Dubai will have a positive impact on the entire Croatian economy”, said Croatian Tourist Board Director Kristjan Staničić, adding that the supply of health tourism in global terms is growing. About 15 of the most important Croatian representatives of health tourism providers, top experts in various fields of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, and the spa and wellness industry attended the workshop. Holders of international certificates, winners of prestigious awards, and leading Croatian entities in the implementation of certain medical procedures presented their offer. “Croatian business entities in the segment of health tourism presented their services at the world’s largest exhibition EXPO 2020 in Dubai to potential international partners and colleagues, as well as the benefits that Croatia offers to tourists when it comes to health and wellness tourism. Most importantly, they paved the way for new investments in year-round tourism in Croatia. Health tourism is one of the fastest-growing forms of tourism in the world and one of the leading motives for tourist travel in the last decade. The offer of health tourism in Croatia today includes a complex set of providers of wellness, spa, and medical tourism. Considering all the predispositions, but also the funds available, we want to further strengthen health tourism, brand stronger and position Croatia as a health destination in the period ahead”, said State Secretary Tonči Glavina. After the workshop and the end of the official part, the participants had the opportunity for additional informal socializing and conversations in the exhibition part of the Croatian Pavilion where they were acquainted with the beauties of Croatia, saw the first Croatian serial electric hypercar – the Rimac Nevera, as well as the Experience Room featuring great Croatian minds and athletes. They were also further acquainted with the offer of Croatian health tourism through promotional videos of wellness, medical, and spa tourism.
